From the Shard to the Eiffel Tower.

175 miles.
One epic challenge.
And a cause that genuinely changes lives.

This June, Simon Ellis and a group of riders will take on the London to Paris Bike Ride, pushing themselves physically and mentally, while raising money to support young people through YMCA East Surrey.

And it’s not just a ride. It’s an experience.

The Challenge

It starts on Friday 5th June 2026.

You’ll set off from The Shard in London Bridge at 5pm, riding out through London, Surrey and Sussex with fully qualified British Cycling leaders guiding the way.

By evening, you’ll reach Newhaven and board the ferry to Dieppe.

A chance to reset.

Then Saturday… the real test begins.

A 135-mile ride through the French countryside, pushing all the way to Paris. Fast, focused, and unforgettable.

The goal?

Arrive at the Eiffel Tower before 5pm on Sunday.

What You Get

This isn’t just “turn up and ride”.

You’ll have full support from start to finish, including:

  • Bespoke cycle shirt and medal
  • Ferry crossing and hotel accommodation
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks)
  • Mechanical and support team throughout
  • Transport for your bike and luggage
  • Eurostar return to London

Everything is taken care of, so you can focus on the ride.

Training & Preparation

You won’t be doing this alone.

A full training programme is included to get you ready, with:

  • Monthly Sunday morning rides
  • Weekly Tuesday evening sessions
  • Multiple ride levels to suit your ability

It’s structured, supportive, and actually a great way to meet others taking on the challenge.

The Bigger Picture

This isn’t just about cycling to Paris.

Every rider is raising funds for YMCA East Surrey’s Life Change Fund, helping young people:

  • Feel a sense of belonging
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Create a better future

The registration fee is £395, which covers the cost of the event.

Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship, with full support provided to help you get there.

Why This Matters

Events like this do something powerful.

They push you out of your comfort zone.
They connect you with great people.
And they give you a reason bigger than yourself to keep going when it gets tough.

That’s what makes it worth it.

Final Thought

This isn’t about being a professional cyclist.

It’s about saying yes to something that will challenge you, stretch you, and give something back at the same time.

Let’s see what you’re made of.
